Inge Hoppe-Grabinger

Echo, echoes and rings of fire

Echo

A nymph who knew all about Zeus
(quite curious, but never obtuse)
was punished severely,
she regretted it dearly,
and drowned all her words in cheap booze.

Echoes and rings of fire

A clown who makes jokes, all alone,
detests echoes that are not his own.
They *) jump through his rings                     *) those echoes
of fire on wings
and leave him, still giggling, to his moan!
