Oliver Baum

Insatiable Desire

I look out of the window,
lonesome gate to my soul,
it does not rain any more,
it is dry,
it is waiting for the burning coal,
once too shy,
I begin to fly through deserted deserts,

I do not want it
because it makes me sick
but it happens every day,
it is like a big pile of shit
that is constantly in my way,

It comes over me suddenly
like snow in summer
to staunch my insatiable desire
that puts my trembling body on fire,
another life I hire,

But finally I say no,
my soul awakens and begins to fly,
my body is resurrected and no longer shy,
but I am not more than a living dead,
wandering through deserted streets of lost cities,
and when I wake up
I can feel the desire
which came to hire
my life
and I begin to dive
like a fallen soul,
lost in oceans's waves,
re-born from the graves,

No, I do not want this any more
because I left my sad acid core
on the other shore.
