Shoot the Stork! - A Limerick.
With Trump, I must candidly say,It's clear, looking back on his way.
Had one shot the stork in due time,
Before he could spread his grime,
Perhaps then we'd have had a brighter day.
Background info:
With large wings, he flies across the sky, a small bundle in his long red beak, which he carefully sets down in front of a house - everyone knows the image of the stork bringing a baby. It is passed down from generation to generation, appears in numerous stories and has even found its way into films: the little elephant Dumbo is brought by the stork in the Disney animated film of the same name.
In fables, the stork is called Adebar, from the Germanic "auda", meaning good luck, and "bera", to give birth. But where does the idea that this bird of all birds gives birth come from? As storks are migratory birds and spend the winter in Africa, their return in spring was associated with new life. In addition, they often wade through water, which symbolises fertility and unborn life. Experts suspect that this could also be a subtle reference to the amniotic fluid that surrounds the growing child in the womb. Against this backdrop, the idea that storks also bring human life has presumably developed - although this has not yet been fully clarified.
