LONDON

London,
magical city;
streets paved with gold,
grass growing greener.
City of lights;
fun and gaiety,
where the day is night
and the night is day.
Masses of people
moving, industrious
like ants.
Yet, all alone
on teeming streets
of horn-blowing monsters.
Hyde Park Corner --
where cranks shriek abuse,
exploiting freedom´s frontiers,
stirring hatred, propaganda, filth.
London,
sad-faced, fearful,
where only tourists unite.
City of sin, degradation,
where drugs kill
the blossom of youth.
London,
a city likened to an old door;
riddled with woodworm,
creaking at the hinges,
dizzily swaying without a latch,
glossily painted
in loud, bright colours.
