OWL AND TOAD

The Toad regarded the Owl and decided his wisdom to try
Wise Owl said he do tell me please
Of the journey we make when we die
Do we melt in the ground and be part of the trees
Or journey like birds to the sky

***

The Owl considered these words and carefully framed his reply
Poor Toad you could not begin to know
Of matters known only to I
Such things are not to be put on show
My patience your starting to try

***

Poor Owl you really and truly are the stupidest creature of all
The answer is that I already know
As sure as the apples do fall
That all of us here shall continue to grow
As your pride rises up like a wall
