GOBBLEDEGOOK

When talking to a baby, why speak in baby talk?

We speak it to our newborns, right up until they walk,

yet when they start to talk themselves and speak it back to us,

we find ourselves correcting them creating quite a fuss,

we teach them Cows are moo moos, and gee gee is a Horse

and that’s why children struggle, it’s all our fault of course.

You wouldn't teach a dog to do something as a puppy
and then train it again when it was older would you?

So why do we do it to children?
