En visite au musée

En visite au musée
j’ai vu une statue
d’un homme sans âge
qui, je ne sais en quoi me ressemblait

je l’ai contemplée pendant des heures
et son mystère n’en était que plus complet

j’ai déjà vu des vivants à moitié morts
joncher les rues
mais là je voyais la vie en statue

pris de curiosité
déjouant le gardien
je tendis la main
pour toucher l’ivoire glacé
j’en fus -oh dieu- immobilisé
et ne pus que regarder
la statue, d’un pas léger,
quitter le musée
