The Black Pearls Of Bora Bora

Oro: The god of fertility and peace
Tahiata: name of a woman from Tahiti -> cloud(s)
Oriata: name of a man from Tahiti -> dance of clouds

From thousand green stepped Tahiata.

The royal daughter spoke, alone

on beach -  a rainbow glowed and shone:

“Where is my sweatheart, Prince Oriata?”

She gave the waves from her black hair

her crown of blossoms as love token.

There, came down, the bow unbroken,

God Oro, bordered by stars - the luster stair.

“O Tahiata, daughter, such beauty and such love,

such truth and high desire never are in vain.

You shall, I promise you, Oriata, see again.

You both will be surrounded by passion from above.

Take here the pearls, obsidian black,

the color of your eyes, so deep and dark,

gleaming of love, ruby-olive in ebony spark,

Oriata’s tears alike. Soon he is back.”
